Many people come to San Marcos seeking a sense of community among other English-speaking people in the area.  Our goal is to help them make a commitment to Christ;  to grow spiritually through discipleship, find a ministry they can be a part of in Chile, and to lead others into a life-changing commitment to Christ. To accomplish this we encourage everyone to take San Marcos 101, 201, 301, and 401 to equip them for the Christian life.  These are all part of our Christian Life and Service Seminars.    (C.L.A.S.S.)

Please contact Pastor Sam for more information on these classes.

101 – Membership in God’s Family

Would you join a club that you didn’t know what they believed or expected of you? We wouldn’t want you to join a church that you didn’t understand what it believed or even what it expected of you as a member, so we created San Marcos 101 which gives you the essentials of what San Marcos is all about and in what direction we see God leading us as a family of God. The class is about 4 hours long and ends with an explanation of San Marcos’ membership covenant. Eph. 2:19(LB), Rom. 12:4-5(LB)

Other 100 Level Classes:

“AM I GOOD ENOUGH”

A one on one or small group study for seekers in search of a deeper understanding of God’s plan of salvation. This class is a great way of cutting through the myth and misunderstandings surrounding the Gospel and building an understanding of the concept of grace. To be a part of this class, call or email our Pastor. These classes are open to age 13 through adult.

201 – Discovering Christian Discipleship

This class is the second of San Marco’s four basic classes. Since these classes build on each other, you must first attend Discovering Church Membership #101 before taking this class. THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLASS: ” … that you may become mature Christians and may fulfill God’s will for you.” Col. 4:12b (Ph) “We are not meant to remain as children … but to grow up in every way into Christ…” Eph. 4:14-15 (Ph) THE FOCUS OF THIS CLASS: We will focus on the Four Basic Habits every Christian needs to develop in order to grow to spiritual maturity. TIME WITH GOD’S WORD: “If you continue in my Word, then you are my disciples indeed. And you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32 PRAYER: “If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, then you will ask for anything you wish, and you shall have it … in this way you become my disciples.” John 15:7-8 (GN) TITHING: “None of you can be my disciple unless he gives up all of his possessions.” Luke 14:33 (JB) “The purpose of tithing is to teach you to always put God first in your lives.” Deut. 14:23 (LB) FELLOWSHIP: “Love each other just as much as I love you. Your strong love for each other will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:34-35 (LB) This class will … Equip you with the skills you need to begin these habits. Explain the tools you need to continue these habits. Why do we need to develop our habits of discipleship? “… You have put off the old self with its HABITS, and have put on the new self … which God is continually renewing in his own image, to bring you to a full knowledge of himself.” Col. 3:9-10

Other 200 Level Classes:

Experiencing God: A 26 week study of connecting with God’s plan for the world. Women’s Interactive: Bible Study: Offering 9-13 week studies of various topics in the Bible and how it relates to our daily Christian walk. Men’s Bible Studies: The men’s groups are continuing various topical studies to help them grow as disciples, husbands and fathers while holding each other accountable.

301 – Discovering Your Ministry

This class is the third of San Marcos’s four basic classes. Since these classes build on each other you should have already attended “Discovering My Membership #101″ and “Discovering Spiritual Maturity #201″ before taking this class. We are convinced that you must first be committed to membership in a church family and committed to the habits for spiritual maturity before you are ready for ministry. Membership and Maturity are the foundation for Ministry. What God made you to BE determines what He intends for you to DO. You will understand the purpose you were created for when you understand the kind of person you are. This is the secret of knowing God’s will for your life! God is consistent in His plan for each of our lives. He would not give us inborn talents and temperaments, spiritual gifts, and all sorts of life experiences and then not use them! By reviewing and studying these factors, we can discover the ministry God has for us… the unique way God intends for us to serve him.

401 – Discovering your Life’s Mission

This class is the fourth of our basic purpose-driven classes. In Class 101 – You committed to being a Member of God’s family. In Class 201 – You committed to the habits for Spiritual Maturity. In Class 301 – You committed to having a Ministry in our church. In Class 401 – You will begin to discover your Mission in the world. THE BASIS FOR THIS CLASS: YOU WERE CREATED TO FULFILL GOD’S PURPOSE. “The Lord has made everything for his own purpose…” Pr. 16:4 (LB) GOD PLANNED YOUR LIFE MISSION BEFORE YOU WERE BORN. “God is our Maker, and in our union with Christ, he has created us for a life of good works, which he has already prepared for us to do.” Eph. 2:10 (GN) FULFILLING YOUR MISSION BRINGS GLORY TO GOD. “I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.” John 17:4 (NIV) YOUR PRIMARY TASK IN LIFE IS TO FULFILL YOUR MISSION. “The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me–to tell people the Good News about God’s grace.” Acts 20:24 (NCV) THE GOAL OF THIS CLASS: That You commit the rest of your life to being a messenger of God’s Good News to other people, and using your time, talents, and treasure for his Kingdom, regardless of where it leads or what it costs. “We make it our goal to please him…” 2 Cor. 5:9 (NIV) “…our goal is to measure up to God’s plan for us…” 2 Cor 10:13 (LB)
